Autumn / Winter

Rock style, at its core, is an aesthetic inspired by rock culture (music, attitude, stage) with some fairly recognizable codes such as leather (perfecto jacket, trousers), jeans (often slim or ripped), band t-shirts, dark colors (black, grey, red) and somewhat aggressive accessories (chains, studs).

The Perfecto jacket was born in 1928 in the United States. Two brothers, Irving and Jack Schott, worked in textiles and created the first leather jacket with a zipper for motorcyclists. The brand was called Schott NYC, and the model was named “Perfecto”.

The goal is simple: to protect from wind and falls, to be sturdy and to allow easy movement, hence its features (thick leather, asymmetrical closure to cut the wind, wide collar with snaps, belt at the waist and short cut for the position on a motorcycle).

After World War II, American bikers (the kind who were a bit outside the system) adopted the jacket. And that's when it started to get a bad reputation. Rock music took it over in the 70s. The Perfecto jacket then officially became a symbol of rebellion, a cultural marker.
